In 2011, Stringworks Studio took form as a way of pulling together the different facets of a career in music. The idea is that being simultaneously immersed in instrument repair and restoration, live performance, recording studio work, and teaching music does not  mean that these pursuits have to be approached separately. They are interrelated aspects of music-making which inform and support one another.

I've been at work performing music onstage or in-studio since 1979, teaching since the late 80's, repairing/restoring instruments since 1995, and have specialized in repairing/restoring resonator instruments since 2001 following an apprenticeship at National Reso-Phonic Guitars (now National Guitars).  I'm Kari Larson, proprietor of Stringworks Studio.
